Dear Nevadans,

I am honored to have received your vote and the opportunity to serve you once again in the Nevada State Assembly.

I am also honored to announce that my colleagues in the State Assembly have elected me to serve as Speaker of the Assembly. I will be the first woman in Nevada history to head the Nevada State Assembly.

As your Assemblywoman and as Speaker, I will continue to work on the issues which so many of you have told me are important to Nevada including…

• Increased availability of safe and affordable prescription drugs and affordable health care for more Nevadans.
• Improved safeguards and more assistance for Nevada’s foster children.
• Strengthened public education with full day kindergarten and more authority for principals, teachers and parents to innovate within schools.
• Increased starting salaries for teachers—and salary incentives for those teachers who achieve extraordinary results with their students.
• Stepped up support for the needs of our elderly through innovative long-term health care programs and stronger laws against elder abuse.
• Enhanced protection for consumers, especially in the area of deceptive loan practices.

There is always more to do. With your support, comments and questions, we will get the job done.
