 Barbara Buckley's career as a public advocate, attorney and legislator is remarkable for the time and effort she has devoted toward helping seniors and those with lower incomes who are not usually represented in Carson City.

- 2006 Recipient of the Women of Distinction Award for Law, nominated by the Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys.
- In April 2004, Barbara was awarded the "Outstanding Democrat of the Year, 2003" by the Paradise Democratic Club for her time and tireless energy spent during the 2003 legislative session.
- In the December, 2003 Las Vegas Life magazine, Barbara was featured as "The Best Reason Not To Lose Faith In The Legislature."
- In July 2003, Barbara was recognized by the Las Vegas Art Museum as "a champion of those most needing representation."

- ALS Advocate Award was granted in 2002 for Barbara's advocacy on behalf of individuals with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
